Bereavement Support

Hospice offers a variety of bereavement services to assist family and friends in dealing with the loss of someone they love.

Caring professionals provide support and counseling from the first days of illness and for as long as one year after the death. Those eligible for all Hospice bereavement services include caregivers, roommates, close friends or family members of a Hospice patient. The grief support groups are also open to anyone in the community who has suffered a recent loss.

-Individual Support Services: Personal visits, phone calls, scheduled correspondence as requested

-Memorial Services: Arranging of ecumenical services focusing on spiritual, rather than religious, aspects of loss

-Therapeutic Support Groups: Supportive educational environment in which bereaved may share their experiences of loss in empathy with others

-Social Support Meetings: Regular social activities encouraging bereaved to participate with others and develop new friends while recovering from loss
